Description
The Field Museum is seeking a visionary Chief Experience Officer (CXO) to shape and advance a unified, visitor-centered experience across the Museum’s public-facing spaces, exhibitions, and programs. Reporting to the President & CEO and serving as a senior executive on the Museum’s leadership team, the CXO provides strategic direction for Exhibitions and the Sue Ling Gin Center for Education & Public Programs, ensuring every visitor touchpoint is seamless, compelling, inclusive, and inspiring.
This is a rare opportunity to lead at the intersection of science, culture, learning, and design—delivering measurable outcomes in engagement, loyalty, and revenue growth while advancing the Museum’s mission. The CXO will champion cross-functional alignment, guide major projects and budgets, leverage audience insights and data, and pursue innovative partnerships and entrepreneurial opportunities that expand reach and impact.
If you are an experienced senior leader with a track record in experience strategy, change management, exhibitions and/or learning, inclusive public engagement, and financial stewardship, we invite you to submit your application materials and help define the next era of visitor experience at one of the world’s leading museums.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
To express interest, please submit the following materials to Colette Hands, Chief People Officer at CXO@fieldmuseum.org:
- A resume/CV
- A cover letter describing your interest and relevant leadership experience
